§ 05

Who built this

I'm Matthew—a mechanic and software engineer.

I built Lift for small shops where the owner also does the repairs. Have a question or need help getting started? Call, text, or email me directly.

§ 06

Questions

Before you get started.

What do I need to get started?Q.01 +
Your email, your shop's name and location, and your labor rate if it differs from the default. No credit card for the trial. Then create your first repair order. You connect Stripe only when you're ready to accept card payments.
Can I try Lift without moving my whole shop over?Q.02 +
Yes. Start with one repair order and keep using your current process while you test Lift. Add customers and vehicles as they come in.
Do I have to change my shop's phone number?Q.03 +
No. Keep using your existing number for calls and everyday customer conversations. Lift sends estimates, approval links, invoices, and payment links from a shared Lift texting number, and customer replies land in your Lift inbox next to the repair order.
How do customer estimates and approvals work?Q.04 +
You build the estimate on the repair order and text it to the customer. They open a link, see the line items and total, and tap Approve or Decline. Their response is saved on the repair order, and an approval moves the job to In repair.
What payment-processing fees apply?Q.05 +
Card payments run through your own Stripe account, so Stripe's processing fees apply and are charged by Stripe. Lift adds no per-payment fee.
Does it sync with QuickBooks?Q.06 +
Not natively. Export your customers, repair orders, line items, and payments as CSV files and import them into QuickBooks or hand them to your bookkeeper.
Can I take my data if I leave?Q.07 +
Yes. Export customers, vehicles, repair orders, line items, messages, and payments as CSV files at any time, including after you cancel. No exit fees.
How is Lift different from Shopmonkey or AutoLeap?Q.08 +
Lift focuses on the everyday work of a small independent shop: repair orders, estimates, approvals, job tracking, invoices, and payments. It's $79/month with no per-tech fees. Try it on a job to see whether it covers what your shop needs.

§ 07

The Close

Start with your next job.

Create an RO, send the estimate, and keep the job organized through payment. No need to move your whole shop over.
